Re: Installed today - only getting 10mbps, was told 76

Can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results

http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

and use this speed tester then carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.

It's the distance to the cabinet that's important, not the exchange.

For your attenuation, the data rate is in the right area.

Re: Installed today - only getting 10mbps, was told 76

Obviously there is a problem. As Ray has said your stats on the Homehub show that your download stats are about right for the line attenuation but they do not tally with your speeds as per the speed test or what your estimated speeds show.

Are you on Infinity 1 or Infinity 2. If you are using a filter I assume you have had a self install which is normally only with Infinity 1 unless your line can deliver the max for Infinity 2.  In any event you will need to contact BT and ask them to send out an engineer to investigate the problem.

Re: Installed today - only getting 10mbps, was told 76

How odd. Self install but infinity2, using filters sent with homehub. I know the speeds they throw about are estimates but the order system said We estimate your download speed will be between 79Mb and 80Mb. Even if wrong, 30 is a way off 79.... Thanks for the input.

What's the status of your phone wiring at home?
Are you using any aluminium extension cables?
