Unlike copper, the fibre cannot be bent at right-angles so, given that using cable cleats to pin the fibre to the wall is therefore out of the question, if you choose to go ahead as-is then you could encase it in rubber floor trunking or just cover it in the minimum amount of concrete necessary to pin it down so protecting it and preventing a trip hazard.
