Re: Just switched to BT Broadband

Spoiler

An update. I had to make a complaint with regards to my BT Sport on Sky being cut off during the ordering process and getting charged termination fees, so I also mentioned the speed drop since switching to BT.

ELC got in touch today, and when discussing the speed issue, I was informed that 55Mbps is the max that my line will support, and that is why the profile is set at that.

As you can see from the below, I've always had more than 55Mbps. Ping times have also increased 50% - and the only thing that has changed is the ISP from IDNet to BT. She said that she would get an engineer to cast an eye over it, but I'm beginning to regret the switch!

Just be patient, give DLM a few days.

How is this loss of speed manifesting itself in your day to day usage?

Re: Just switched to BT Broadband

It hasn't so far - but that is hardly the point.

Don't mind giving DLM a chance, but if it doesn't happen within the 14 days from install then I'll be moving back to IDNet, as I am only saving £3 per month - it was the cashback and reward card that enticed me to switch.

I'd prefer the extra speed headroom than a lower price.

Re: Just switched to BT Broadband

Don't know if it was anything an engineer did, or just DLM working its stuff, but line rate is now 70630 kbps

All good, despite being told my line only supports up to 55Mbps 🙂
