Ive read that already, probably written by you lol

And i didnt find leg sailing comment useful.

At least you gave a explanation. Maybe legitamise sailing thinks "oh cos im on here ALL THE TIME i only need to give flippent statements cos im a know all/**bleep**" more like.

I'm not going to defend or criticise anybody because we can all do it, but sometimes when replying to posters we sometimes assume knowledge when the poster doesn't have that knowledge so it can seem flippant when that is not the intention.

Re: Long term customer new problem.

As i said OP they will not look into it as you are getting the estimated speed. Yes every ISP has DLM this is the Openreach design it was not disputed. It is BT's total failure to act on info the customer tells them, i know as i went to renew with in 5mins of speaking to BT India about speeds i canceled my contract with all services. Why? Despite my line achieving near the estimate of 2012 now the new estimate in 2013 is 15Mb down from the previous year despite my line achieving higher than this. If i had a fault on my line that DLM sorted out by lowering the speed i have got for over a year too anything in the range of my new 2013 estimate. They would not do a thing! DLM isn't a solution its a temp patch that can manage a faulty connection within parameters. This DLM is for BT the solution to problems it seems as if DLM maintains the line to the lowered estimated speeds then no intervention is needed. 1If you have an intermittent fault it may recover back to what it was before but that depends on how frequency of the intermittence of the fault. 2 If the fault is permanent but DLM has made a stable connection and that is within the estimate scope BT will not investigate and the previous profile will never change until the fault is fixed. DLM is a tool to keep your internet connection stable and current as rather than the internet dropping out completely.
DLM comes on the line for a reason yes that is accepted but because it can lower speeds to keep you connected and if that just so happens to be in the range of the estimated speed doesn't mean their isn't a problem but BT are going on what ever your speed estimates are not what speeds you where getting which IMO is a total cop out in service

Re: Long term customer new problem.

ill have to wait and see what happens possibly for a couple more weeks but im sure not settling for it. I will get it sorted eventually. when time permits me. Since the mods on here are only useful it appears for trying to keep the peace. so i wont be coming on here for future help with my service and my thread will be attached to an email saying the same.

I suppose theres been quite abit of activity around my network recently with one thing and another from building works, electrics, bad weather etc. so maybe it is just a time scale thing BUT it has going onto a month that its slowly decreased to the point now.

I understand what DLM is for and im sure it serves its purpose but it should be cleverer to know what the differences are pertaining to different situations.  so like you i suppose i think it has serious faults that are not easily rectified my BT = peeved off customers .
