Fttp is due to be installed this afternoon..
The trouble is, that yesterday afternoon the copper internet signal was lost. The relevant light is off on the router, as well as no connection when on pc.
Do ISP or OR terminate copper service before fttp, or is it just a coincidence a breakdown has occurred?
I've taken today as a work from home day, but now I'm stumped.
I'll be calling ISP tech support later when they open.
Thank you

ISP initiates it. Are you changing ISP at the same time as upgrading to fibre?
Thanks for your reply,
It got sorted later yesterday morning, with the same ISP.
Somehow the configuration settings of the router had changed. They used to be set as they have been for years, and what I had in email from start of service, but a new config required for fibre was there somehow. Sorted in a few minutes with tech support.
The OR engineers turned up yesterday and didn't get out of their van. They're coming back today with a hoist to get to pole at roadside.
Thanks again.
As you keep referring to 'ISP' rather than BT, one can only assume BT is not your ISP.
Which begs the question, why are you posting on a BT forum?
To be honest, it's because when I googled Openreach forum, this was the closest I could get. I couldn't find a forum specific for OR.
Also because the same issue probably wasn't ISP specific and may help somebody else.
Thanks again 👍
If you changed the type of broadband and you were given a new router or had to change your old router mode to FTTP that is your ISP fault for not informing you of that although I would have thought that the installer would have checked that all is working.
In any event as you have already been informed it has nothing to do with BT so you would be better posting on your ISP forum and lodge a complaint with them.
