Low modem upload sync speed

Go to solution

I am on BT Infinity, and I was having speeds of 17/2 until our cabinet was upgraded 8 months ago and my speeds are now 40/2.

My HomeHub says that the maximum data rate is 9830 / 38622, but the data rate sits at 2.00 Mbps / 39.56 Mbps

The 2mb upload is pretty slow, should I not be getting closer to 10Mbps?

The funny thing is, the DSLChecker seems to be inaccurate.

On DSL Checker I get this:

were or are you on the old bt infinity package which was 40/2mb speeds before your cabiniet was 'upgraded'?  if so it looks like the openreach improvements have helped your down speed which is well above estimated but left the up speed at old capped level of 2mb

I think the old package was 40/2mb and looks like your up speed is still capped at old level

when was last time you renewed your BT contract?

Hi @regtee

Welcome to the Community and thanks for your post!

Sorry that your upload speed is slower than what it should be.  @imjolly is right, it looks like you're on an old profile with a 2Mbps upload speed.  Send us your details, we can check it for you.

Click on my username here >> RobbieMac << and you'll see our contact link underneath my profile picture.

Cheers,

Robbie

Re: Low modem upload sync speed

Hi @regtee

Thanks for posting back and I am really pleased that you are seeing a faster upload speed now.

Just to confirm, you were indeed on an old profile where the upload was capped at 2meg.  We placed an order to remove the cap and give you the speed you're getting now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Smiley Happy

Cheers,

Robbie
