Lower than guaranteed speed issues

Go to solution

Hi,

My recent new contract from March 14th is now giving me 40.20mb which is below my minimum guaranteed 43mb.

This through a new smarthub 5Smiley Mad

Ive emailed complaints and keep getting missed calls from India and tbh I can see this scenario going around and around.

India left a message to say they can see that I have lower speeds but havent done anything as adventurous as tweaking from there end. Can anyone (Mods) assist in this as I am just getting fed up with these missed calls as they havent called at arranged times!

Thanks.

stuart.

Which BT Home hub do you have?

Your broadband will start by midnight on: 14 Mar 2017
How fast will it be?

The blurb.
We estimate your download speed will be between 49Mb and 55Mb, and your upload speed will be between 9Mb and 10Mb.

The minimum guaranteed speed you can expect from your BT Infinity will be 43Mb.

The max data rate is only about 45Mbs, and the noise margin is about right, so you are not going to connect at a higher speed with your current configuration, as something is restricting the available bandwidth.

Which one of these matches your master phone socket?

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Keith-Thanks for your input.
Phone socket is last one on right. Line seems quiet but will need to get the old wired phone to complete check.
Might it be worth rebooting HH ?
