The photos with the wires isn't the master socket. What wires are connected to the MK3 socket, there doesn't appear to be a picture.
This is the socket that was master in the dining room. This is the socket that the cable outside the house comes to. The BT engineer then fitted the MK3 socket in my living room as this is where the router is and BT TV.
Ok, I can now see that two of the photos are of the MK3 socket. I assume we are looking at 3 sockets here. The Mk3 socket is not the master socket. This socket would appear to be the master. If the orange wires are falling out of the connectors, that is why you are having problems. The Mk3 is wired incorrectlly in any case and will be presenting an unfiltered connection on the phone socket and nothing on the data socket. You should be getting dial tone and a good broadband connection at the test socket of the master.
