Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

Hello.

So recently i have been running into some cabinet congestion i belive.

I have the 52mbs package but now rarely see above 40 from around 6-9pm every day. When it is congested i usually see 9-35mbs down and 9 up.

I live about 40 meters away from the telephone exchange itself and the fibre cabinet and i live in a small rural village.

I check the speeds every day and see it infront of my own eyes. When i do these speed tests i make sure i have restarted the hub and ONLY have my computer connected to it.

Here are my hub stats for reference:

Product name:

BT Hub 6A

Serial number:

+084319+NQ70690626

Firmware version:

SG4B10002244

Firmware updated:

02-May-2017

Board version:

1.0

Gui version:

1.32.0

DSL uptime:

0 Days, 0 Hours 13 Minutes 48 Seconds

Data rate:

10.00 kbps / 55.00 kbps

Maximum data rate:

27808 / 85193

Noise margin:

22.3 / 14.9

Line attenuation:

10.2

Signal attenuation:

VPI / VCI:

0/38

Modulation:

G_993_2_ANNEX_B

Latency type:

Fast Path

Data sent / received:

19 MB Uploaded / 21 MB Downloaded

Broadband username:

bthomehub@btbroadband.com

BT Wi-fi:

#Active

As you can see there is no problem with the hubs connection to the cabinet itself and since there are no devices but my computer connected when i test the speed i can only assume it is cabinet congestion

Here is the cabinets information for reference:

What do you think is the problem. Is it really bad congestion or a more serious problem? (If you are unable to read the speedtest results they are as follows, 8.29mbs download and 8.83 mbs upload.)
Thank you for taking your time to read this 🙂

Re: Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

Looks very much like congestion, which will be in the backhaul from the exchange rather than in the cabinet by the way, BTWholesale should be aware of the problem and taking steps to increase capacity.

Re: Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

Also for the love of gawd, DO NOT RESTART YOUR HUB's CONNECTION, congestion it definately looks like but you restarting the hub could also force the DLM to start changing your profiles, just dont do it unless you really have too.

DSL uptime:

0 Days, 0 Hours 13 Minutes 48 Seconds

DONT DO IT.

What do you mean by changing my profiles?

Re: Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

Can you please provide http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/  results for different times of the day, including the further diagnostics page? The last test needs to be done at peak times so the results are stored on the BT server.

These must be done using a computer connected to the home hub, using an Ethernet cable.

Which exchange are you connected to?

Multiple restarts of the hub will make DLM think your line is unstable and reduce your connection speed accordingly.

Re: Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

If this does ever happen to me will it eventually bring my speed back up? I will no longer constantly restart my HH6. Thank you for letting me know!

Re: Major cabinet congestion. Fixable??

Yes, but that isn't the problem you have at the moment. Your connection speed is at the maximum for Infinity1 with a huge amount of headroom. Your problem is low download speed due to congestion.
