the speeds quoted by BT are connection speeds not download speeds and as already said you appear to be on infinity 1 and getting max speed 55/10mb no ISP guarantees download speed
I've also attached a screenshot from the bt wholesale speed test, it is identical to the test I did prior to plugging into the mastsocket test slot.
Router stats added to bottom. Showing 55 download speed?
That isn't a speedtest screenshot, it is the DSL checker giving estimated possible speeds.
Can't see anything wrong there other than the fact that there was a disconnection just minutes before you posted the stats.
As you can see below, it refers to the guaranteed minimum speed.
I want to achieve this, my favorite analogy at the minute, you wouldnt buy a crate of apples which said a minimum of 50 apples each month if some months you get 22 and the best you can hope for is 46.
Thats a lot of missing apples over the course of 18 months.
Ok, you've chosen the 55/10 package which your line is syncing at. You would very likely see higher speeds if you were on the 80/20 package (we would need the detailed line stats to confirm this). BT, as an ISP, don't guarantee download speed, they only guarantee line speed.
I totally agree with your analogy, and if it applied to the line speed, then yes you have every right to complain, but like I said, download speed isn't guaranteed, BT will only intervene if it's significantly lower than the line speed on a wired connection (normally caused by congestion).
