Max available speed

Go to solution

Hi

I had a fault on my line which was fixed by openreach in June but since then the maximum speed I can apparently get seems to have been fixed to 40Mbps.  I am on Superfast Fibre 1 and although my speeds were never more than around 40, before on the BT site I would be told I can get speeds up to 56Mbps, which ties up with what the ADSL wholesale checker says, picture below, and what the openreach engineer said on his visit.  Since then however BT say I can expect speeds of only 39-40Mbps. I wonder whether there is some sort of switch left on/off which now restricts the top speed or is this really the best I can expect from my line?  With the recent price increases I am currently reviewing my options and frankly if thats the best I can get I can get a better deal elsewhere, with guaranteed no proce increases.

Thanks for any help

The up to 56Mb is merely an estimate. Your hub will tell you what your max attainable speed is for your line.

Post the connection stats from the hub.

I'm afraid you are getting about as fast as you are going to get and within the range shown on the checker.
