Moving house - is engineer visit needed?

Go to solution

887d6e1b-c4da-46b1-9d9f-ce18658e7aa2.jpeg

I’m moving into a property that currently has a Sky service.
I will be transferring and upgrading my BT package when for when I move in (Full Fibre 900 / Full Works / Digital Voice)

I have an engineer booked for moving day, as advised by customer service, but was wondering if it is actually necessary?

The image shows what is in the property at the moment. Is this sufficient for the new services?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Yes, it needs an engineer visit and no, what is already there in not sufficient.  FTTP (Full Fibre) is a completely new connection and involves a new box being fitted to the wall called an ONT (Optical Network Terminal).

Edit:  That doesn't have to be in the same location and it will need a power socket nearby, so some thought as to where you want it beforehand is in order.  If possible, they will put it where you want.
