My max available speed lower that the minimum speed guarantee

My family bought Unlimited Infinity 2 package with upto 72mb/s speeds and a minimum of 67 guaranteed (what it says in the photo below) yet when I run a speed test on the BT website it says my max achieveable speed is only 51mb/s. Why would we be sold the more expensive package when we can't get the speeds for it anyway and the lower fibre package would be perfect?

Re: My max available speed lower that the minimum speed guarantee

Please post your full Router Stats. For a Home Hub see on here: Broadband Top Tips . Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

What does BT Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

are you using the test socket with a filter to eliminate any problems with internal wiring especially if you have extension sockets in other rooms whether in use or not.

try quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should be quiet and best with corded phone

Re: My max available speed lower that the minimum speed guarantee

We do have a filter but I'm not sure if it needs to be upgraded as it's been there for years. As for phoning that number every time i tried phoning it would come up as busy so I just left it. Where would I find my full router stats?

Can you try the test socket with a filter to see if that will improve your connection speed

The quiet line test number should not show up as engaged

It's a good idea to replace it if it is an old one as they have been known to fail.

Re: My max available speed lower that the minimum speed guarantee

If it says engaged does that suggest that there is a problem with the line? Ok i'll look at replacing the filter and see if that helps
