Thanks Chris, yes I think that’s my only option at this point or, perhaps hold out for FTTP! Shan’t hold my breath for that one... 😊
I give up you cannot back up your claim - I get it
Thanks Chris good point.
Yes, this is measured from the main socket with nothing else connected (extensions etc.) and as reported by hh6 and adslchecker.
When your title says 3 times faster, you later say it's 50% faster (i.e. you get about 19Mb, they get around 30Mb) - so is the 3x speed a comparison of actual speedcheck or the information displayed somewhere else?
I can't see if you've both checked the speed using wireless or wired connection - that can make a serious difference depending on equipment and the wireless connection type used (note all speedtests should be done by ethernet connection to the router/hub).
What devices are being used, mobile, tablet, laptop etc?
If I may, something doesn't quite add up, not least due to the drop off of speed based on distance. There's more than one graph/figures to back up the details given.
The answers are all above, but I recognise it’s all a bit fragmented because of the trolls.
His actual speed is 59 as confirmed by hh stats etc. Adslchecker says max speed is 30 so when people started doubting the actual figures I made the point that the question still holds even if you look at the estimated max speed. So 3x speed is actual, 1.5x based on bt’s estimates.
All speed checks by wired connection direct to hub, by hub stats and adslchecker achieved stats.
I think device is irrelevant, but it’s a pc.
I hope this clarifies/helps.
Is it possible that your neighbour is connected to an "infill" cabinet that is actually nearer to his property than cabinet 20?
Please keep it friendly and on topic, we want every community member to feel comfortable when asking and answering questions on the forum.
Maybe. There’s a box and a lot of wires on a post between his and my house. I’ve not looked closely, but i could go back.
would adslchecker still say cabinet 20 if there was an infill?
The box is about 1.5km from the cabinet with another 1km or so to the last house. Could they have installed some kind of booster?
I am not an Openreach engineer so I don't know what is and what is not possible but I would have expected an infill cabinet to be similar to a normal cabinet and be on the ground.
Thanks, no, nothing like that around. The box may just be some sort of junction box, but it’s pretty big. I’ll take another look.
Hi @p0rtion ,
I have laboured through this thread and the conclusion I reach is that you have been asked to post the ASDSL Checker results for both PHONE NUMBERS but you have repeatedly refused to do so.
Why is that ? That information would have removed the argument that you have created.
