New Fibre 900 connection, only getting 280's on speedtest.net?

Hi, been waiting a couple of days for new connection to settle, but cant get any more than 280 down, and 110 up on any speedtest apart from BT's own, which tells me i should receive the 900/110....The up speed is perfect, just the down is way below the 900, even below the 450 stayfast promise!.

Ive tried a different router, and still the same. Any Ideas, do I need to call for an engineer?

Rebooted the actual BT box on the wall and the hub....speeds are now in the 400's....atleast near the stayfast figure...
Hopefully they will increase at some point.

Run a speed test here. https://fast.com/

Do net expect to get full speeds with a wireless connection. All speed tests should be performed with a wired connection.

If you don't get full speed from a wired connection, it may also be worth running TCPOptimizer (https://speedguide.net/downloads.php) - that made a difference for me on Windows 10.

Also not all the speedtest servers seem capable of a reliable gigabit test speed, which is why people suggest fast.com.

That said I've found several speedtest.net which work okay for me and allow me to max out the speed:

@chIt's not just people who suggest Fast.com, it's also BT's FTTP team.
