do you have extension sockets as well wired to the 'master'
Yeah, there are two sockets downstairs (only 1 with phone attached via a filter) but have tried testing with nothing plugged into extensions.
We never had an issue when on 8 meg and always got full 8 meg even with HH4 plugged into the "far end" extension socket.
There is something killing your connection speed as nowhere near estimated and the obvious is your wiring getting an engineer visit to sort out and probably install a MK3 SSFP master but I think you may be charged http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12439/c/
Some recent info makes me sure it isn't a wiring issue is that my sister's boyfriend (who lives about 30m away, admitedly on a different street) is suffering veru similar (actually slightly worse) issues
Are there any exchange issues. http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php
if nothing then you need engineer. As you cannot use test socket to eliminate your internal wiring it is always a possible problem
None apparent but BT engineer coming on Friday so we'll see what he says. As I saiad, my sister's boyfriend (who lives 25m away max) has the exact same issue but is even slower than me......watch this space
Interested on update after engineer visit
Engineer just left.
He changed my master socket and reset the connection at the exchange.
Says he's tested the line and the best I can expect is 60 meg. Not exactly slow but, as BT estimated 71-80 meg and guaranteed no slower than 63 meg still a bit miffed
if up to 60mb then that is big improvement from previous stats can you post up to date router stats.
looks like your line is not quite 'A' quality in the checker estimates. I doubt you will find that BT guarantee any speed probably expected is the terminology
Indeed..feels somewhat ridiculous that I'm moaning that I'm now only 60meg, hehe. Proble I have now is the master socket is in the loft and the onlyother socket is at front of house so wifi a bit weak. Have to move the socket me thinks
