Newsgroups infinity option2

Option 2 unlimited "re contracted"

I was Happily getting a throughput of just a tickle over 9meg from newshosting and easynews. Since last weekend I have been struggling to get above 6.

I also think my hh is in its way out, not looking for a hh4 just a working hh3. Anyone else having issues?

You will also be limited bt what your News provider can give you, that might not be 50Mb.

Re: Newsgroups infinity option2

I've had problems for the last week as well, resulting in quarter or half speed. I'm using newshosting. I'm starting to think that BT are throttling the SSL ports. If I change to another server port it goes back up to a good speed but not full speed (7-8MB/s), but these are not SSL ports, which I would prefer.

Re: Newsgroups infinity option2

yes mines newshosting too, used to get 50mb, now 15-20mb.

what the point of infinity if they are throttling us, not worth the £26

Re: Newsgroups infinity option2

How can it be BT throttling you when I get full speed on Giganews?

Re: Newsgroups infinity option2

I'm using Giganews using SSL port 563 and max out my connection at 56Mb/s constantly.

Last month, to try to reduce costs, I did try NewsDemon for a couple of weeks and couldn't reliably get more than 30Mb/s out of their servers. I decided to stay with Giganews !!

I would suspect the News Provider rather than BT personally.
