Currently BT Broadband is only available on compatible telephone lines. Is this likely to change if we are going all the way with broadband? Obviously we can't sign up yet, as our lines are much to expensive to change.
Can you elaborate, BT Broadband is available in one form or another on virtually any phone line.
If you enter your number in the checker you will see what is available to you. https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/

Hi, the reason why you have an alumimuim line is because there was a shortage of imported copper from South Africa in the 1970's. The copper miners went on strike at that time.
Margaret Thatcher ordered emergency aluminium lines. in the 1970's. They are very good lines -they just don't work with computers! Not all are compatable with BT Broadband. There is not much you can do about this, as they cost thousands to replace (even if you sign up!)
Bit of history for you there!
Then we don't get BT Broadband! Not all lines alumimium lines are compatable with BT Broadband.

Aluminium lines are not very good, they corrode very easily which is what causes all the problems.
do you have a phone service at all? if so by whom?
you are posting on a 4yr old thread!!
