No Broadband for Over a week and no reliable input on when it will be fixed / what is being done!

Hi there,

 

Our whole village (including the school) has been without broadband for over a week now, and little appears to be being done about it.

 

Phoned several times and always told "technicians are working on it" however every day another 24 hours is added to the estimated completion time.  I would really love to know what they are doing that is taking so long !!

 

I work from home and finding this really frustrating.

 

Seems to me that we are low priority seeing as we're rural.  I'm pretty sure that someone in London would not experience this kind of low level of urgency to get us back online!!

 

I have doubts as to whether anyone has even visited the exchange to find out what the problem is!

Thankyou, these links are really helpful to find out what is being done, sadly they don't make BT work any faster ! But thank you anyway 🙂

No but I can tell you that the cause of the outage was a tree coming down on a single track bridge severing the overhead cables and bringing down the telegraph pole.

 

The pole has now been replaced and is now awaiting aerial cable replacement. You shouldn't have to long too wait now.

Thankyou, it's good to know the progress of the works being carried out, at least! I think the most frustrating thing is being told its going to be 24 hours every day and then it taking 9 days and counting! It would be much more useful if we had a realistic outlook from when they've identified the works required instead of giving us false hope!

Cable has now been repaired but is has been found that the line card in the cab is defective. A new card has been ordered once fitted full service will be back.

 

Should be sorted in a couple of days now.
