On 10th October I reported my broadband being down. An engineer visited, and the debacle began.
It's now a MSO, but there is almost no information from Openreach.
The fix date has been pushed back 6 or 7 times now, it was meant to be fixed this morning, but today the fix date has now been pushed to 6th November. The cause is still unknown, or not being shared. All OR have is 'Escalated to Manager due to lack of responses'!!! Basically the same as it has been the past 2 weeks.
I rely on broadband for my lifeline pendant, only today have I been offered a 'mini box' but my mobile signal is barely existent.
Most of my neighbours have their broadband unaffected.
I am getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of information. I know this isn't BT's fault, but because Openreach don't sully themselves with the likes of us common little oiks who just pay for our bills, it's infuriating. And who gets the brunt of that? BT.
I am sick and tired of paying for my bill when I can't use it. I'm sure if I stopped paying my bills they would spring into action!
Also, every complaint I have opened about this has been closed. Also, the fault tracker says 'we have 30 days to fix your fault' what happens after 30 days?
I know I am due compensation. It's going to be VERY expensive at £9 98 a day, but frankly, I would rather have the reassurance that if I have an emergency I can just press a button, rather than rely on the slim hope that if something did happen, I am in capable of using a phone and having the capacity to speak!
If ANYONE can provide me with answers I would be grateful. If ANYONE works for Openreach, could they find out more? It's Ref VOL055-**************
Thank you in advance.

This appears to have started on 11/10 when acount was restricted
You have also posted that you are moving home so do you have a date for move and BT notified
So it appears more complicated than you have posted
From one of the other posts too "There is also a physical fault, plants apparently have ripped the cable out of the wall!!" strange that the cause is now unknown too
And "Thanks I will do. However, I think they won't contact me directly, apparently 120 other people are affected too! Not sure who though as I am piggy backing off of someone's EE WiFi so...*shrug*" yet now hardly any of your neighbours are unaffected, very weird changes tbh
The restriction related to something from 2024 that they had not taken off, it was only seen when I raised an issue, so I thought my connection related to that, but unfortunately it didn't. It was just happenstance. I first reported it to BT on the Friday, engineer came out on the 12th. And even that was me putting too much faith in the system.
In any case, it has been nearly 3 weeks, no repair yet. But yes, it seems to have become VERY complicated. Bear in mind, it seems most of my neighbours are still using their internet fine. My immediate neighbour has hers, a friend down the road has his, they have spoken to their neighbours and all have theirs, the pub about 50m, away doesn't have internet. Also, BT won't tell me who is affected, just that over 100 are.
I have absolutely no idea why I am the only one affected, not why the pub is also affected. I don't know how the system works. As I was told by someone else, this isn't gas, electric or water that generally affects everyone in an easily defined patch.
Only came here looking for help.
So, I don't know how BT works, but the restriction related to something from 2024. I can only go by what I am told by BT. At the time, the fault wasn't known to exist as an engineer hadn't visited.
As for moving, no. I have no date set.
From one of the other posts too "There is also a physical fault, plants apparently have ripped the cable out of the wall!!" strange that the cause is now unknown too
Again, went off what the engineer told me, not sure what kind of gotcha moment you are looking for here...

Again, I was going off what I was told, that they repaired something to the cable outside caused by plants ripping it. I'm not an engineer, so I'm not sure what your point is. Also, for some reason some of my neighbours aren't affected. The pub down the road hasn't got internet though, but that's about 50 metres away, 8 houses down and across the road. It's been down for a while apparently. Not sure how long. I didn't ask. BT won't tell me who is affected either.
Frankly, I'm not sure what your attitude is trying to accomplish here other than try to rule me up. Why on earth would I bother coming onto a forum bull**bleep**ting people when I am seeking answers? Hey there @morrit.
