No engineer...but apparently it's done!

Just thought I would share my experience today.

Engineer appointment for between 1 - 6pm, wife waits in but he doesnt show, now that's not really a problem I'm sure they will inform us in due course and rearrange an appointment.
I came home about 5.30 check my regular websites then have my tea. About 6.15 I pop back on my pc and the net is down... hmm strange rebooted home hub, nothing, fearing the worst I decide to ring bt...

Upshot is the engineer marked the job as complete!
And obviously broadband was turned off!

On the phone for over 50 mins at three different departments, we now have an engineer allegedly coming on Friday but to be honest I'm not getting my hopes up.
It's a pain as my lads work involves eBay, amazon etc

Never really had a problem with bt the last 18mnts but the service today does not inspire confidence.

Had a bt infinity installation booked in for today.

Engineer did not turn.

Engineer marked job as complete.

BT. turned internet off.

No internet connection.

Excuse brief explanation...replying on my mobile.

Were you getting the phone moved to BT as well?

After ringing bt they rearranged for today between 1.00-6.00 guess what

No engineer
No phone call

The most appalling customer service I have experienced in a long time.

Will ring tomorrow when I'm in a better mood.

This is getting ridiculous..

Arranged for a visit today (the 3rd appointment)

No engineer
No phone call

Will try one more time then I will cancel my whole package and maybe go with sky, I doubt this will trouble them mind you.

Unfortunately Sky still have to deal with BT Openreach - the company that deals with the actual wires and equipment that deliver the service.

Spent over an hour on the phone again after being passed from one department to another I was told I would be rung back within 2 hours... you guessed it.. they didn't.
