Not getting minimum guarenteed speed anymore

Hi I’m not getting my contracts guarenteed minimum speed anymore, I had Openreach fit a new line from my master socket up to the pole due to a previous line issue and was achieving at least 50meg down speeds, when I renewed my contract I was told my guarenteed minimum was 42mbps download. Using the bt app to do a speed test shows the same as other speed test apps by saying at best I’m only getting 38 mbps download but the app says this is ok. Anything I can do??

Re: Not getting minimum guarenteed speed anymore

Can you please repost the NEW connection information, as shown on your last theread https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Fibre-broadband/Speed-increase/m-p/1821813#M262794

That will show whether your line speed has increased.

If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

Re: Not getting minimum guarenteed speed anymore

From what I have noticed since the last time I posted here my maximum data rate has increased but my actual speed has gone down. Any ideas before I call BT. I used to get 50mbps when new line was installed now it just goes down to 38-40 at best

Re: Not getting minimum guarenteed speed anymore

As has been reported many times on this forum this has happened on renewal due to the loss of G.INP.

This should automatically kick in again in 10-14 days and return your speed. It cannot be done manually.
