Re: Not what I call Infinity

Hi @Jolo0924

Thanks for your posts and welcome back!

Sorry you're having problems with your broadband speed in the evenings (peak times).

I've taken a look at the exchange you're connected to and nothing obvious is jumping out at me so I'll need your details for a closer look.

Re: Last resort

@andymerrett

I would as well, but as I am paying for 53 Mbps with a guarantee of 27 Mbps minimum, and only getting between 4 - 15Mbps, then I am being overcharged.

Done.  Having trouble with the BT speed test site at the moment.  It won't return a result sayin g there is a problem, try again later.

Re: Last resort

I understand that. The point I was making is that if you are having problems streaming video at 15Mbps then there are other problems as well.

I'm not saying you should accept a significantly slower speed than you are paying for, merely that there must be something else going on as well, which is why I asked about the ping test and such like.

Anyway, I've now mentioned it three times on this post, so take it or leave it 🙂

Re: Last resort

Hi @Jolo0924,

Thanks for dropping over the email. You've mentioned the issue is more than likely a wireless problem so can you try changing the wireless channel? You get advice on that at How do I change the wi-fi channel on my BT Hub.

Cheers

David

Hi David.  Thanks for the reply

Yes, I have already done that.  I have a little program called "Acrylic Wi-Fi Home" which shows me what channels other SSID's are using so that I can manually change to a less congested channel (at the moment it is on 10), but this doesn't seem to help.

Re: Last resort

Thanks for confirming that @Jolo0924.

I've tested the connction again this morning and the results aren't picking up any problems. Can you try running the speed test including the further diagnostics when the connection slows and let me know when you have the results?

Cheers

Re: Last resort

Do another this evening when the problem manifests, this one will be recorded on BTWholesales server. It only saves the most recent.

Helps the mods convince BTW there's a problem.
