P2P throttling / traffic shaping on BT Infinity option 2

So I know that those of us who signed up to BT infinity before February this year are still subject to the P2P traffic shaping at peak times that those who signed up after that date do not suffer. Seems a bit unfair to continue to restrict those customers who signed up earlier, but who am I to say?

Anyway, I wanted to try to get this restriction lifted so I have spoken to the call centre today and spoke to a nice chap who I'm not really sure understood what I was talking about. He kept insisting that my profile was unrestricted, but as you can see from the Glasnost results, I clearly am being throttled:

So the chap I spoke to said he would "observe my connection for 2 days" but I have no idea if anything is actually going to be done. Will I have to sign up for another year with BT to remove the restriction? I am not 100% sure if I want to do that as to be honest I've not been that pleased with the service I've had from BT (although to be fair some of that was from Openreach staff so only "sort of" BT.

Can anyone help with this?

Cheers, John

Thanks John.

I'll check out how long I've got left on my contract. If it ends soon I'll probably just switch, but if I've still got months left I suppose I'll have to recontract with BT. I presume I can do that without waiting until my current contract ends?

Hi David, I don't seem to be able to see the contact link in your profile... Other than the "personal message" link which I presume is not what you meant?

Re: P2P throttling / traffic shaping on BT Infinity option 2

if you do switch be very careful as many ISP's are not truly unlimited unlike the totally unlimited package BT offer
