PPPoE setup for pfSense

Hi all,

I know that a number of people use pfSense instead of the HomeHub 3 with BT infinity. I'm trying to do this (as a business customer with 5 static IP addresses).

I'm struggling to get the WAN port setup and working. In the web gui I set the WAN connection up as PPPOE and used the same username and password as I do on the homehub that this is replacing.

After saving this configuration, I plug the cable that currently goes to LAN1 on my modem into the port that I've allocated for the WAN on the replacement machine and reboot. The WAN port never seems to come up though.

Would anyone who is using pfSense or a similar solution be able to share with me how / what you did to get yours working.

Thanks,

Re: PPPoE setup for pfSense

Make sure you set DNS up as well System/General either BT's own ones or Opendns etc.
