Persistent disconnects

Hi,

Here is the next phase of the attempt to fix my daily disconnects for the last year.

After much discussion with @StephG and her manager Mandy BT sent me a HH5 to try.

Here are the stats for my HH6 :-

Re: Persistent disconnects

Hi @StephanieG ,

Sorry for using the wrong link for you in the earlier posts.

Here is an update. I have had no disconnections two days but the speed has continued to decrease, viz :-

Re: Persistent disconnects

connection speed seems consistent with attainable and has boost from lower noise margin.

are you using a new ethernet cable direct to device with no powerline adapter

does speedtest.net give similar results?

Re: Persistent disconnects

Hi @imjolly ,

Many thanks for your input.

If I am reading correctly the connection speed has dropped, not increased, but of no consequence.

It was a wireless connection.

With a wired connection using a friends laptop, not with new ethernet cable, download was 30.96Mbps and upload 5.6.

Will try speedtest.net in a while and post results.

Re: Persistent disconnects

so ethernet gives 30mb download but wireless is a lot slower

did you split the wireless networks?  try different channels and/or different modes?

Re: Persistent disconnects

Hi @imjolly ,

Yes I did split the networks, has advised on here.

No I have not tried changing channels or modes, jus used the same as I have been using with previous hubs.

The results of the speedtest.net test was  :-

190725 SPEED.NET.JPGHH 5

So slightly higher than the BTW test but way way short ~40Mbps we are chasing.

When BT ring on Monday I will suggest moving forward with SH2, rather than the backward step to a HH5, that BT keep offering me, viz :-

As always, I would value your opinion please
