Phone/internet cable causing damp problems

I have a problem with the cable bringing phone line and internet into my home.

The cable comes from a pole that is uphill of the house. Throughout the winter, rainwater runs along the cable and pours down the wall at the point where it meets the house. The continual running of water results in quite serious damp issues in the ground floor. It's an old house with solid stone walls in a very rainy part of the country.

I strongly suspect that a cable drip loop (leading water away from the wall) would solve the problem. Is there any chance I can get a BT engineer to fit one? Or is this completely unheard of? Is it even BT that I need to contact, or does someone else do the pole to house cabling?

Many thanks in advance.
