Hi,
Joined BT a few days ago on the 900mbps fibre package. Had a new line installed by the engineer, speeds are great but we get an awful lot of latency ping and jitter at fairly regular intervals on our connection. The speed drops down to a fraction of what it should be during this time. I reckon it occurs once every minute or so.
I’ve connected devices via Ethernet and still the issue persists, also tried using another router and that hadn’t helped the issue, the issue still occurs with that. So I believe it might be something on BTs end?
We also have the TV package, and this issue is impacting that because it causes the box to lose connection for a split second.
Any help would be much appreciated
And just to confirm, you are using the BT supplied SH2 router, and you are not forcing any settings?
I've tried both the SuperHub 2 & a brand new TPLink router, both have a reoccurring packet loss and latency issue. This leads me to believe it is an issue with the line, or equipment on BTs end.
Or any of the intermediate routers.
Have you done a tracert?
Hi,
Managed to set some time aside to check this out. Replaced the previous router and the issue still persists.
See attached images of tracert & pingplotter to Google
The issue happens fairly often roughly 25s or so. Connection used to be fine on Virgin Media...sort of regretting leaving them now.
