BT started by Superfast broadband service yesterday - FTTC. I should get around 50-70 down and 18 up (stayfast guarantee is minimum 47 down and 17 up).
I've checked on http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome and this agrees with my promise. Sorry cannot seem to copy the image to post here.
I know I have to leave it switched on for 10 days but the initial connection speed is 5 down and 8 up! It hasn't altered in the first 24 hours. Brand new house, BT install master socket, no extensions, good quality new line copper, no noise on line at all with quiet line test. Brand new hub.
Am I being impatient or is this very wrong?

can you post your hub stats advanced settings then technical log information
any line noise dial 17070 option 2 should be silent and best with corded phone
have you turned off smart setup http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44328/~/what-is-smart-setup-on-the-bt-hub%3F-how-can-...

are you using the test socket with a filter to see if that improves your connection speed should connect router direct to filter
if still as bad then phone CS services and get free engineer visit as speed well below expected
I have the dual socket faceplate that BT installed few weeks ago with new phone line. Don't think I need filter with these? DSL line in one, phone cable in the other.
Actually just live chatted with BT and they're sending an engineer out Thursday as there is a fault, so can't criticise them. I was worried I'd have to wait 10 days before raising a fault request!!!
Hi, just an update.
A BT guy came to the house today. He plugged his BT homehub in the test socket, told me my line has been 'capped' at 5 down/ 8 up and nothing he could do about that. Have to wait in now for someone coming next week from the OpenReach 'Boost' team......
