Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

Hey ive been using the Bt infinity unlimited package for around a year now when it was first installed I was getting a nice 40 download speed and around 9 up, ever since then its been dropping and dropping just a little bit at the time but we are now at half or under half of what it was going as low as 10, at this point its barely worth me paying for so i am hoping you can help me fix this.

From reading some threads I see you can do a total line reset of some kind perhaps we can try this?

oh one thing to note im using a home hub 3.0 type B if that makes any difference

Thank you for your time

Re: Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

Please run the speedtest at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com.

Please go on to run the Further Diagnostics, then post the results including your Downstream IP Profile

and your Upstream IP Profile.

Cheers

Re: Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

Thank you for the quick reply here are the results.

 Download speed achieved
during the test was - 18.66 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable
range of speedsis 16 Mbps-19.36 Mbps
.
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is -
19.36 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during
the test was - 6.21Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream
Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Now while the test may say the results are acceptable i have to disagree as i started off at 40..was very happy at that speed, it never disconected while i was using it and i was downloading my steam library at 20 minutes per game (used to take about 8 hours so ..yeah i was laughing the whole time) it stayed that way for months then as i say gradually the speed has decreased to this or worse (10 has been the lowest i have caught it at) in small increments, currently this is slower than my friends broadband connection that he pays a fraction of the price for 😕

Have you rebooted the modem recently?

Re: Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

the home hub gets rebooted, the openreach modem does not get touched because the engineer told me to leave that alone something about speeds dropping and taking 10 or so days to get back up to where, is that the next step reboot the openreach modem?

Re: Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

Looks like a line fault has caused your IP profile to be reduced.

What was the estimate for your line when you ordered Infinity?

Re: Poor line speed, think I need a mods help

When I first ordered it the estimate was 40 down and I think it was about 10 up.

when the engineer came and set it all up I was getting 39.5 ish, have to say he was great was on a mission to get the full 40 alas he didn't manage it but I was ecstatic at 39 (up from 5)

and i understood it would probably drop a little, which is why when it reached 35-38 i was still perfectly happy
