Poor ping and intermittent drop-outs in speeds

Hello,

In rescent weeks I notice that game I use to play without an issue started to get very laggy. Pings in the regions of 200-1800 which makes it impossible to enjoy.

- router always connected to master socket,

- restarted few times to check if that will help,

Some time in the past(like 2-3y ago) engineer came and said that my pair of cables had to be swapped cuase some damp issues. Was fine for quite some time and now ping again started to fail me.

I have a HH6. Details from technical log : (connection was with literally same vaules 6days+ before this reboot)

Is there something I can do to get better pings o lower the latency as makes things really bad when in game (interleaving etc?)

THanks

Re: Poor ping and intermittent drop-outs in speeds

as a gamer I am surprised that you don't already use ethernet instead of wifi to ensure best gaming connection

your stats show connection speed virtually at attainable speed and with noise margin down at 3.5db would suggest you have G.INP active

as you appear to have split the wifi networks try selecting the wireless channels manually rather than leaving on auto

you could get a wifi analyser for mobile to see what channels are in use by your neighbours

It could be your neighbours are now congesting the wireless channels available to you. The HH6 only has 3 channels available.

Wired connection is always best.

Re: Poor ping and intermittent drop-outs in speeds

There is another alternative to running cables.

https://www.shop.bt.com/products/bt-mini-wi-fi-home-hotspot-600-kit-084288-BVFF.html

This creates an additional wireless network, and also has two Ethernet sockets.

Re: Poor ping and intermittent drop-outs in speeds

BTW, I noticed in your first post you said restarted a few times. This is the worst thing you can do with VDSL. It will actually cause more problems than it will solve.

Re: Poor ping and intermittent drop-outs in speeds

Possibly yes. But 2 times was not my fault...electric was changed so power went off anyway...
