Poor upload speed

I'm on BT Halo, I have relatively good download speed (> 30 mbps) but my upload can range between 0.5 - 2 mbps depends on time of day.

I have conference calls everyday and its frustrating that due to my poor upload, my colleagues always tell me they can't hear me properly due to the breakage of the transmission from my end.

I appreciate due to lockdown the % of people working from home using internet has increased significantly, but it seems extremely bad in my area

Is there anything BT can do to improve my upload speed?

Re: Poor upload speed

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if  HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

enter your phone number and post results  remember to delete number   https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Re: Poor upload speed

Whenever I have tried to complain to BT in the past about upload speeds, the standard response has always been a dismissive "we do not guarantee upload speed".

Unfortunately, each of the times that I was complaining to them was because I had no upload at all, verified by various speed-test sites! So, effectively the internet was not working for me because I was completely unable to send requests to websites. Cue a basic explanation to them of how the internet actually works - most of them don't seem to have a clue.

Re: Poor upload speed

The quiet line test should be silent and any noise is a problem

can you run dslchecker and post results

there USB no sensitive information in the stats. The username is generic same for everyone
