Thanks for this. I'll look into the self trenching though I understand that the trench would have to meet OpenReach specs regarding depth, base materials etc.
As mentioned, the OpenReach fibre broadband checker says of my address: "You are full fibre ready" Seems we are not.
All others in area who wanted FTTP have been connected free of charge using existing phone poles. Ours is hampered by the 11Kv line.
All the ducting I put in was on private land and the only requirement that OR asked for was that a pull through rope was in place, which they supplied, not too many 90deg bends, a couple of access chambers and at least 250mm below surface.
I have been told today by a Scottish Power manager that there is no problem with the fibre cable passing on BT. poles beneath the 11 Kv. lines as long as ENA.separation regulations are followed. He offered to isolate the stretch above the fibre route to enable Openreach to install the poles and fibre.
