Purple flashing lights! No Connection :(

So the lights on my BT Hub have been flashing purple for 4 days now. Gave up trying to call since the lines have been super busy. Been chatting with them on twitter though, but to get a reply back its usually a day, understandable.

Would appreciate if you could help me fix this.

I have the dual faceplate thing on the master socket.

Bought a phone to do some checks and the Landline is working fine, tried the quiet line test - no noise.

Things I have tried so far:

  • Restarting it lol
  • resetting it
  • Removing the face plate and connecting the hub with an adsl filter (using the test socket i suppose?)
  • Trying a different cable

They completed some checks and didn't find any faults.

Also, the broadband troubleshooter does not work for me. It just remains on 99%. Can't tell if its because I am using my mobile data for the troubleshooter (dont see why that would be the issue).

Thanks for reading.  If further info is needed, let me know. Thanks 🙂

What does your master phone socket look like?

They do not usually give any problems apart from perhaps the front part not clipping on fully.

I assume you have tested it like this as you mentioned the test socket?

NTE 5C Test socket checkNTE 5C Test socket check

If you dial 17070, is the correct phone number read out?

Which BT Home hub do you have?
