That is why its not working.

You must connect it directly to the top socket, without a filter.

There is no broadband on the bottom phone socket.

Thank you so much. I tried to put the broadband cable directly to the top socket but it wasn't going in properly so I was using the filter thinking it should definitely work. Now as you said that it has to be the top socket, I open the the socket and everything and found a broken plastic to be inside the holder which is why it wasn't letting the cable go in. Now all done, it is finally working. Thank you so much Keith!!

Can you confirm if socket number 7 is compatible with BT Home Hub 6? 

 

We have had a lot of problems with the Smart Hub 2 and have gone back to Fibre to the cabinet yesterday, but we still have flashing purple lights 24 hours later. 

A guy came in and put in socket 7 a few weeks ago before we ended up going back to the Hub 6 - but we are now concerned the new socket/line may be the issue, especially since they are putting the old line back in outside the house.
