Re: Question on Stay Fast Guarantee

Hi @Okaydan and thanks for posting.

I'll try and clarify things. Your current provider have their own equipment at the exchange. The address checker can only give an estimate and the real connection speeds would only be confirmed once a line is connected. As @NigelB72  has mentioned ‘It's because of LLU. BT can't give an accurate speed until their kit is running on the line ‘ and also @gg30340  ‘If you used the post code checker this is the least reliable and the address checker will be slightly more accurate but is still only a rough estimate.’

Cheers

David

Re: Question on Stay Fast Guarantee

Thanks for clarifying a few things, Main reason i made this post was because of the massive speed difference promised/estimated between my current ISP and BT (being installed soon). When i ordered i was advised that 8-9mbps would be the absolute maximum upload speed i would receive, But i told him i'm currently getting 16-18mbps. So i was just wondering if the speeds would be alot slower than my current ISP, Not looking for a slower connection than what i'm currently getting. So was just confused is all, Thank you for taking your time to reply & clarify a few things 🙂

Getting multiple opinions isn't a bad thing is it? This is a community forum after all.

It is when the implication is that you don't believe the answers  you have been given multiple times.

What you have been told are not "opinions" they are facts regarding why your estimate is an estimate and not the exact speed range you will get.
