Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

Sorry to Hijack the thread but I also had a query about Fibre 1 vs 2.

I have been on fibre 1 for the last couple of years and contract expires in 3 weeks time.

I got an email saying i can stay on Fibre 1 and my monthly bill will reduce by £3 / mnth or I can move to Fibre 2 for the same monthly cost that I currently pay for Fibre 1.

I am new to the forum and alot of the technical stuff goes way over my head 🙂

I was wondering if anyone could assist providing me help whether to stick with Fibre 1 or upgrade to 2 based on the below :

Thanks....

Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

Please don't hijack threads, it causes total confusion. I have moved your post to start a new thread.

You are already on fibre2 but your downstream speed is less than fibre 1, possibly due to fault conditions.

Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

With an upstream speed of 18mb you are currently on fibre 2 not 1.  Were you some of the lucky customers who were on fibre 1 and got a free upgrade to fibre 2?

Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

Apologies for that. Thanks for moving the thread.
That’s interesting, I cannot recall ever being moved to Fibre 2

Would you have any idea of what the fault may be? Should I report it to BT as a line fault.
I have never had any issue with the connection in the last couple of years, it has been super reliable.

Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

Hi @scooter7475 and welcome to our community.

Thanks for posting about your connection, sorry you're having a few problems. Can you give us some more detail on what the issue is? Is there any noise on your line? Do the hub lights change?

Cheers

David

Re: Another Fibre 1/Fibre 2 Query

Hello David and thanks for the welcome.

I had a listen to the line and cannot hear any noise that would be a concern. The hub is very stable and the lights do not change.

One of the previous posters made a comment that based on the results I posted that there may be a fault someone affecting speed?

Thanks, Steve
