I have I have had 2 MJQuinn Engineer visits and tomorrow will be my third Full Fibre installation appointment and I need to know if a hoist has been booked and for the tree to be trimmed back or the engineer will not be able to do the work again
Nobody on this customer to customer forum will know.
normally it would be your responsibility to arrange for the trees to be trimmed before openreach/Quinn visit not up to openreach/Quinn
the tree are not on my land they are on council land
Are BT your provider ? , this isn’t an Openreach forum , so if you are using a different provider and not BT , this isn’t really the place for your question, but in general
Hoists can be arranged on the day if the reason for needing one wasn’t known until the installer turned up or can be arranged in advance if it’s known that a hoist will be needed, if an existing copper dropwire exists that can be used to cut and draw the new fibre cable through the trees following the same path the copper cable takes through the tree canopy , it’s not always necessary to cut branches back etc but hoist operators can do some pruning.
Can’t speak for MJ Quiefs but if Openreach DL needs a Hoist they’ll request one on the day using an Assist.
I assume Quiefs have a similar setup.
