Re: Upgraded to Infinity 2 but limited to Infinity 1 speed

Go to solution

Hi there, the exact same thing has happened to me. I upgraded to Infinity 2 but I am restricted to Infinity 1 speeds. Can one of the Moderation team please let me know how I go about resolving this please?

Many thanks.

Are you connected to the master socket, or an extension?

Hi Webby, the router is plugged into the only socket in the house and from there it is CAT5 network cable to my PC. There are no other issues with my LAN as I can transfer to my local server without any issues, only the internet speed has not changed since upgrading.

You need an engineer visit.

Ever since I have had BT broadband my BT Router speeds (Advanced Settings > Broadband > Connection) have never went above 50Mbps and this is still the same now. I think that it is a provisioning issue rather than one that a tech is needed to come out for.

You're on 80/20, proven by your upstream connection rate.

For some reason, the line isn't getting close.

Could be an incorrect speed estimation, poor line, thin guage or aluminium cabling etc.

You need an engineer issue to determine the cause of the slow speeds.
