The E-side is still copper for his phone line. And the D-side will be alu from the cab to his home.

I was reffering to your question on ADSL2+ that the goes to the exchange, not the fibre product that has only 5m tails going to the DSLAM CAB.

Are you referring to FTTC or ADSL2 that the e-side is not copper?.

btw, from the box to the FTTC cab you still have copper tails of about 5m max.

Yes it's fibre all the way to the exchange, and reason for the higher(well should be) speeds.

But saying that you will have about 2-5m copper tails to the new FTTC street CAB that sits next to it, as all lines go to the existing old cab, then to the FTTC CAB. but anyway, my point is it should be way better and more stable, it's not the case, as my 300m ALi is old and not in a good way....

If the fttc cabs right next to the old cab then its that short, but many fttc cabs have been placed as far as 50m from the old ones.
