I only ran the basic speed test, I never clicked the 'continue' button, as I know that involves re-naming etc, and I didn't have time.

BT rang today, they (BTW) are still looking into the problem.
Just run the BTW speed test, 21:34.
3.74 Mbps download, 8.68 Mbps upload.
I clicked on 'Further Diagnostics' and ran that, ended with the text;
'Your speed test has completed and the results are shown above, however during the test an error occurred while trying to retrieve additional details regarding your service. As a result we are unable to determine if the speed you received during the test is acceptable for your service. Please re-run the test if you require this additional information'.
Last time I ran it, it had a further option to run more tests, but you had to do a re-name in the router settings, which is what I was refering to earlier.
Windows installed the Aniversary version this morning, may hava a bearing, may not. Or next door could be microwaving (only joking, I'm at the laughing stage of this problem!).
I'll continue my hobby tomorrow.
I had another call from BT today.
BTW have moved me onto a less congested line (or something similar), could I monitor it and they'll ring back on Tuesday to check it's OK.
Speed has been approx 50mbps download, 10mbps upload on wired and wireless everytime I've checked it this evening.
Well pleased, fingers crossed this keeps steady.

I'm calmer now, but still, there should be a way of testing the speeds before they sell them!

Hopefully they'll get it fixed within the time frame they supplied, 2 weeks to go, but this is STILL 2 months now it has been like this.
It was thanks to your thread that mine has been fixed, I hope so anyway, 2 days and counting (it's like AA in here).
It's taken BT from 26th Aug to do this.
I really hope they fix yours soon, the way they go about communications and repair work etc is appalling.
I'm waiting till they ring back on Tue to check progress, and I'll raise the issue of compensation.
It's still wierd that the forum we post this all on is read by BT though.
