Hi all,
Over the past week or so I've noticed the stability of my connection has worsened. When connected the speeds are fine and throughput is fine, but it seems to drop the connection every now and then.
Working from home this is a noticeable interruption , and apparently the games my kids get dropped out of games when this occurs give them timeout penalties, so I'm getting grief!
Anecdotally it happens a few times a day, although it just got to almost 24 hours without a drop, and then dropped out. The connection re-establishes itself pretty quickly without me needing to do anything.
This might seem a minor whinge, but the connection was previously rock solid, we have a few people working from home all the time and they have not reported any issues previously, and the game timeout bans are becoming a problem. I am concerned something has worsened my connection which may lead to further problems
I notice my SmartHub 2 was recently updated to firmware v0.31.00.10253-BT automatically on the 6th of Feb , is this related? The timing seems suspicious
I've taken a look through the technical log which notes disconnections. They are much more frequent recently :-
21:04:16, 17 Feb. DSL Link Down: duration was 85526 seconds

Look how much more frequently the issue is after the firmware was updated, times at 6th of Feb
Have you tried a factory reset by pressing recessed button on back and holding 20/30 secs until hub lights flash just in case the firmware update did not install correctly.
Remember to turn off smart setup on restart
No, I haven't. Will that rollback the firmware?
If I Export all my hub settings via the web interface, can I reimport them after the factory reset, or is that likely to reintroduce a problem?
You cannot rollback the firmware but you can save the settings and use after reset

Can I use the factory reset option within the GUI , or do I have to physically press the button as described? is there any difference?
The button is a better option, as its a hardware reset.
I doubt if that is the issue.
Evening, I’m having exactly the same issue. Believing it was the hub I called BT and they sent me a new one. Sadly the problem has not gone away. They are calling me back Weds to check up. I’m also thinking the recent update has caused this too.
