shame it is single band, but at the price, is understandable.

am sure it is a very good product for the price, otherwise it wouldn't have been recommended. it's just me trying to make a decision as to whether to spend £30 and MAYBE find this router doesn't suit, for whatever reason or to go down the more expensive road, trying to CMA with an item that offers more, at an extra cost. will it be as future-proof as i hope? i dont think anyone can really answer that because we just dont know what the various techs are that are in the pipeline or what the various companies have got in mind to deliver that tech. it all gets quite overwhelming!

They sometimes allow collection from large Sainsbury stores, but its no good if you are miles away from anywhere.

Amazon may be the best option, as you can always return if its not suitable.

gotta give some serious consideration to what to buy. dont want to waste money on the cheaper or more expensive option and sure it wont be. just my preference really. gonna have a think but even then, if i decide to go the expensive option, is the v2 worth the extra over the v1? too many decisions for me, ha ha

As I said previously, the AC1900 is probably overkill for your needs, the VR600 is a good compromise between the 9970 and AC1900 at about £90

you're probably right, licquorice. that just gives me more to think about, ha ha

well, i took the option you suggested, licquorice and bought the AC1600 (Archer VR600) modem/router for BT phone lines. hope it hasn't offended you Keith_Beddoe and that i dont have any problem with my VPN service. i'll let you know when it arrives and is set up.

i assume that the set up used is as TP-Link says and that after logging in i change it to what has been told to me here,

Username:  *****@btbroadband.com

Password: BT

or do i log in immediately with the bt info, ignoring what TP-link says in the quick set up guide about using:

a****

a****

just checking

Just get the executive decision maker out, it has heads on one side, tails on the other.
