Serious frustration at slow speeds and frequent disconnects

So I've posted before about disconencts and slow speeds and had some great help from @PaddyB , but this is getting ridiculous. It seems like every couple of weeks now I'll have a day or two where my router constantly disconnects and my speed drops to a fraction of what it should be. Always in the evenings - router resets, flashing pink, flashing orange, solid orange, blue for 5 minutes, flashing pink, flashing orange... etc. When the connection finally comes back stable I'll be getting 3-4mbps instead of the usual 40+.

I've used the diagnostics in the BT app numerous times and had it come up with phoneline faults, broadband faults, telling me they need to send an engineer, and telling me they can't find any problem. We've had numerous faults raised and apparently fixed. We've had engineers go out to the cabinet and find nothing wrong, I believe we've had our port switched at the cabinet too? We've had an engineer come to the house and check the wiring and replace the microfilter and phone cable and tell us our speeds should increase by 7-10% (and we did to be fair see a small increase for a while). We've even had an engineer come to the house in person to tell us the fault was fixed because they tried calling our landline to tell us but we don't have a phone plugged in (not sure why they couldn't call my mobile like they normally do?). The last fault a couple of weeks ago they sent me a minihub as I'd upgraded to BT Plus but that was pointless because the connection was back by the time it arrived, and it was switched off again the night before the most recent issues started. And again, the other night the connection went haywire and although it now appears stable again, it's maxing out at about 8mbps.

It seems this is getting more frequent recently, and I've seen a number of tweets etc complaining about the same issues but the service status is always "Everything's OK", and I'm getting more and more frustrated.

Quiet line test is silent, no phones plugged in anywhere, router plugged in to master socket. Router stats etc below:

did you try quiet line test on night of13th when all the drops in connection were happening to see if there was noise on the line?  there was numerous resets in short space of time with connection speeds down/up all over the place

are you using test socket with filter to eliminate your internal wiring and faceplate as causing the problem

even though you don't use landline have you checked than when connected to test socket there is no dial tone at any extension socket?

I didn't try the quiet line test on the 13th no, it was done last night. The wiring was all checked by an engineer about a month ago and he couldn't find any issues so I'd be surprised if that was it, but I can check again later, same for the extensions

Yeah fair point hehe.  One of those things that I forgot about in my frustration and in amidst running diagnostics checks.

I've double checked wiring and made sure all the extensions are dead when using the test socket. Currently back up to a more respectable 47mbps connected through the faceplate

You have 52mb connection speed which is virtually at attainable so looking k apart from very short connection time. Just now need to see if connection will remain stable
