Slow Broadband - recent line problems, which were fixed.

Recently, last few weeks, our broadband would drop out. BT openreach found a fault on our line and fixed it on the 27th July. Our speeds at that point became very low 0.29/2.56Mbps. Engineer said to call BT for a reset. After many calls in which the people kept trying to book in an engineer, they said they would reset it and email me. No email appeared, but i left it for a bit to see. The speed has gone up to 15Mbps, but feel it should be higher as I'm sure my minimum promised was in the 30's. My problem is we never looked at speeds before our problems. Has a DLM reset happened? If this is the service I'm going to get should I be looking for money back?

We have superfast fibre 1 unlimited - on the web it stated average speeds of 50?!?

Can someone suggest my next action please. Have I had a reset? How would I check?

Re: Slow Broadband - recent line problems, which were fixed.

enter your phone number nad post results  remember delete number but leave exchange and cab  https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

the speed average you quoted is an average meaning there will bee customers with loer na others with higher speed hence average  your speed will depend on what your line can handle

Re: Slow Broadband - recent line problems, which were fixed.

Seeing as you had a repair (and line intervention) ... what should have happened is the engineer in question request to BTo for a caution counter reset. Problem is some engineers who are broadband trained at BTo can do it from their JDSU, whilst line engineers who are not trained cannot. Unfortunately most broadband problems can get away without one, but where the intervention has caused massive drop in linespeed as in your case ... relying on a natural DLM recovery is a tad unfair.

If you've had no email from BTo regarding the intervention, I would be looking to contact a forum moderator, who is employed by BT on this forum ... who will either expedite that reset via BTo, or use alternate means to do so.

Otherwise ... it could take a while.  One for flagging methinks.

The moderators are busy folks, and weekend approaches, just wait to see an invite link in this thread to make contact ... takes a day or three. 😉
