Re: Slow Speed on Faster Total Broadband (AKA FTTC)

The target noise margin is 6 but yours is 9.7 which indicates DLM has capped your line due to some disconnections it has counted.

Once the instability has ceased, DLM will raise your speed over the following 2 weeks.

Re: Slow Speed on Faster Total Broadband (AKA FTTC)

Hi ray_dorset,

Will it take 2 weeks for the DLM to detect the line as stable and then will it gradually increase the speed?

No, DLM starts counting the days as soon as your line is stable, then 2 weeks later you should be back to full speed.

here are router stats from Hub5:

I haven't rebooted the router so looks like the DSLAM at the exchange did an automatic reset.

Hope someone can advise further.

Re: Slow Speed on Faster Total Broadband (AKA FTTC)

Welcome back to the forums dombullion......Smiley Wink

As ray_dorset already said, the dlm will check (every 15 minutes I believe) your line and it is only when it sees a stable connection, will it increase your speeds although it may well fluctuate until it sees a stable connection.....

Can you carry out the "quiet line" test ? Using a corded phone plugged into the test socket on the master socket, dial 17070 and choose option 2. There should be no crackles, popping, buzzing, etc, in fact, it should be quiet........
