The Max observed downstream us usually in the 45 range but now has been cut in half. The readings are in-line with what I view on my router:
Any ideas on how this can be resolved and what caused this issue?
Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
I would not be surprised if you found you did not get any dial tone on your phone.
assuming you do get a dial tone have you tried connecting to the test socket with filter to see if that helps.
Thank you for replying.
I've dialed the number and hear a slight bit of noise on the line, but nothing major. This drop in speeds has occurred rather recently from last week, I am tempted to give BT a call to speak to an engineer if theres no other solutions.
Even the slightest noise can have a big effect on broadband speed depending on the frequency of the noise. Report a noisy line on 151, as the engineers do not work for BT you won't be able to talk to one until he visits your property.
You need to check at the test socket, just in case you have an issue with your internal wiring.
