Slow internet speed

Hi im on BT fiber halo 1 im ment to get 68 up 19 down but all i get is max 8 up w down, yet when i do a speed test on the app it says everything is fine with my internet and i have no problems? Thats complete rubbish i dont get anywhere near my gauranteed speed. Just after some advise on what to do before i ring bt up and make a complaint. Im paying for fast internet it so it should be fast.

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if  HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information . 

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

is the 8mb you are quoting a download speed not a connection speed

run btspeedtester and post results  must be done with ethernet not wireless
