Slow page browsing

Go to solution

I'm on the BT HH5 with a comfortable 55mbps down [speed test.net]

But going on pages like YouTube, everything takes a while to load up. Like, laughably slow. Even comments take ages to appear. This happens on pages like Facebook.

The download speed is fine, perfect even, it's just internet stuff takes an age - not good for a super-fast internet!

Yes, exact same here from this morning too, and I've ruled out anything my end. Must be an issue somewhere.

Yep, same here - started overnight.

It feels like packet loss, and is particularly bad on forums  - even this one - with pages randomly failing to load. I just signed up to this forum in order to post so had to register an account, but when I submitted my account sign-up details the page wouldn't finish loading so I had to kill the page in the browser and try again - the second attempt succeeded immediately.

Similar loading problems here but our exchange locality is not listed under:

'Loss of Broadband and Telephone service' Tue 28/07/2015 10:48 Ongoing
http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/service_status

Also my BT phone number not traceable via 'Enter the broadband telephone number you are having a problem with': 'Sorry, we can't help you online with that number.'

I can't even load the service status page... Firefox (Windows 7) is "Connecting..." forever.

Getting the same issues, various sites not loading or incredibly slow. Feels like packet loss too as others have stated above.

My area code (01332 - Derby) is lot listed on the service status page (after it eventually loaded). Definately a BT issue as if I swap any of my devices (windows, ios, osx or android) to my 4G mobile connection they load instantly.

There's some activity with updates today, in a last minute rush before Windows 10 appearing.

Firstly there's an update for windows 7.

If you have an internet security utility, there's fundamental updates today.

It took 1/2 hour to perform a disk defrag this morning, after the updates were applied. All these things slow your web page access.

Windows 7, IE 11.
