I've had a no contract broadband plan for about 2 years now and it offered me 63 mbps speeds, which I did get. But now I've realised everything has gotten a lot slower (dropped down to 43 mbps and no broadband guarantee). I want to know the reason why this is happening since every other provider is now giving me 43 instead of the usual 63-70 mbps. It's not like openreach has installed another 200 meters of copper wire to my house right...?

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal - provided you do not have digital voice
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
Hello, thank you for a response. I don't know if event logs are safe to share online since it isn't a BT router but a Vodafone router, however I'm noticing many firewall related events such as:
[616818.696410] DROP wan in: IN=pppoe-wan OUT= MAC= src=omitted DST=omitted LEN=40 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=248 ID=54321 PROTO=TCP SPT=57289 DPT=4786 WINDOW=65535 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0 MARK=0x8000000
(This one is a firewall message that pops up all the time but with a different SRC number)
and also system related errors:
Failed to send DHCPV6 message to ff02::1:2 (Permission denied)
I've done a quiet line test and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it.
Here's my broadband availability:
If you are a Vodaphone customer, please could you post on their user forum, as this forum is for BT Retail Customers and has nothing to do with Openreach who provide the network.
Somebody there should be able to help.
Thanks
